How Athena Solar uses AI services.

AI services we use

• Google (Gemini)

  Turns staff voice notes into text and reads spoken replies aloud. Checks chat replies on this website before they are shown. Also does the work listed for Anthropic below, including web searches for public information, whenever Anthropic is unavailable.

• Anthropic (Claude)

  Answers the chat on this website. Helps our staff read documents you share with us (such as utility bills, usage reports and other solar quotes) and draft proposal notes and answers to your questions. Runs the web searches we use to look up public information, such as local permit rules, utility rates and equipment specifications.

If Anthropic and Google are both unavailable, the chat on this website may use OpenAI as a backup.

What these services receive, and what they don't do with it

• They receive only what is needed for the task, such as the document being read or the details of your project.
• When we look up public information, the web searches run through Anthropic (Claude), with Google (Gemini) as a backup. Those searches contain only public details, such as a town, a utility or an equipment model, not your name or contact details.
• We use their paid business services, which do not use your information to train their AI models.
• They process the information for us and keep it only for a limited time under their own terms (for example, Anthropic deletes it within 30 days unless the law or a safety review requires longer).
• We do not sell your information, and we do not let an AI make decisions about you without a person checking.
