Solar FAQ

Why Is My Solar System Not Producing?

Solar systems stop producing because of inverter faults, monitoring issues, tripped breakers, failed components, wiring problems, or shading changes.

Short answer

A solar system may stop producing because of an inverter fault, failed optimizer or microinverter, tripped breaker, damaged wiring, communication failure, utility issue, shading change, or equipment that was not commissioned correctly.

Monitoring problems can be misleading. Sometimes the app stops updating even though the system is still producing. Other times the app is accurately showing that production has dropped. Diagnosis separates monitoring failure from actual production failure.

Athena Solar can review error codes, monitoring screenshots, inverter status, utility bills, and system conditions to find the likely cause and recommend a repair path.
